TEN Factory Tames Baja!

Motive Gear and its TEN Factory axle division, partnered with National Drivetrain, took on the grueling Baja 1000 determined to beat the odds in what many described as the toughest Baja 1000 to date. “Pistol” Pete Sohren and his Slime  Motive Gear Trophy Truck left the line first and held the lead for the first 140 miles until a motor issue put an end to his stellar run. Cameron Steele took up the fight in the #16 Yokohama / Lucas Oil / Motive Gear Trophy Truck, and ran a solid race in the top 10, finishing 8th, and 4th place for the year. Both Pete and Cameron finished the year with ZERO gear failures running off the shelf Motive Gear Performance ring and pinion sets.

Heidi Steele ran #617, Unlimited mini-truck and combined the race win with her third SCORE Championship in row! This is a first for a female driver and Heidi continues to re-write the record books.

Class 17 Jeepspeed saw #1701 Eric Filar, Ryan Filar, Ron Stobaugh and Scott Hartman take on three-time defending champion #1702 Mike Shaffer and Pirate4x4.com in a tough 29-hour battle. Both teams ran TEN Factory axle shafts and Motive Gear ring and pinion sets, with #1701 taking the win and the trophy.

The 2009 Baja 1000 proved as tough as advertised, and Motive Gear and TEN Factory axles were proved Baja Tough!

Baja California, Mexico

The 775 mile long Baja peninsula is one of the most remote places in North America. Every year racers from around the world compete not just against each other but against this unbelievably rugged landscape for the SCORE Baja 1000. The course crisscrosses the desert from the Pacific Ocean to the Sea of Cortez and back.

Just finishing this race is a proud accomplishment, winning is the ultimate accomplishment!
